    JeSLIB at IASSIST 2025!

Early this summer, JeSLIB had the privledge of presenting at the annual conference for the International Association for Social Science Information Service and Technology (IASSIST) in Bristol, United Kingdom!

The 50th Annual Conference of IASSIST brought together professionals from around the globe working with information technology and data services to support research and teaching. The theme focused on the past, present, and future of data services, including data management and technologies.

With this theme in mind, we wanted to showcase how JeSLIB has become an anchor for data librarians to publish their scholarship and continually adapts to the increasingly data-driven world.

Our panel presentation "Empowering Data Librarian Authors: Creating Transparent Data Sharing Policies and Avenues for Publishing Open Access Data" focused on our enhanced support for data sharing and data scholarship through new initiatives, including creating a Data Editor position, launching a new "Data in Action" article type, and developing a user-friendly template to make data publication accessible.

The presentation included discussion between a recent author and the journal editors as we collaborating on creating these new accessible venues and clear processes for sharing data work.
